A REALTOR® Emeritus is any person who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination of both, for a cumulative period of 40 years in one or more Associations of REALTORS®, is eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status. Upon approval by the Board of Directors of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, no further payment of dues is necessary to the Bartow Area Board, Georgia Association or the National Association.
The dues waiver does not take affect until the following 'dues season'. For example, members approved as Emeritus at the NAR Mid-Year or Annual meetings in 2010 would have their dues waived starting in 2011. Upon approval, each REALTOR® Emeritus member will receive a congratulatory letter, certificate and 40-year REALTOR® Emeritus lapel pin.
If you believe that you fulfill the requirements to achieve REALTOR® Emeritus status as defined above and would like to have all future national, state & local dues waived, please click here to download the REALTOR® Emeritus application.
If you have any questions regarding REALTOR® Emeritus status, you may contact Alicia Barras, Membership Director, via email, alicia@bartowrealtors.com or phone, 404.845.4066 ext. 104.
*All applications must be submitted to the Bartow Area Board of REALTORS® by March 15th & September 15th of each year.
All applications will then be reviewed for approval by the National Association of REALTORS® at the mid-year meeting or the Annual Conference.
NAR Public Awareness Campaign
Each year, your Renewal Statement contains a separate line item for the NAR Public Awareness Campaign. As you may know, the Public Awareness Campaign remains one of the most popular programs among NAR members - in 2009, 97 percent of REALTORS® favored the advertising program that promotes REALTORS® and the value of homeownership, and 95 percent wanted to see more advertising like it.
While this line item is distinct from your NAR dues, it is not optional. For more information on the Public Awareness Campaign, please visit www.realtor.org/pac.nsf/pages/PACHome.
